FAQ Baby, Family & Pet Casting
Baby & Pet Casting Appointments
How long does a baby or pet casting appointment take?
Most baby hand and foot casting appointments and dog paw casting sessions take around 40–60 minutes. Every appointment is calm, gentle, and unhurried, giving newborns time to settle and pets time to relax. If you’re booking multiple impressions or a family or sibling piece, the session may take a little longer.
Is the moulding material safe for newborns, babies, and pets?
Yes. Our moulding material is gentle, non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and suitable for newborn babies, older infants, children, dogs, and other pets. It sets quickly and comfortably, capturing every fine detail without causing distress.

What ages do you cast?
We cast all ages.Newborn casting can be done from just a few hours old, baby and toddler casting at any stage, and we also work with older children and adults. Pet paw casting is suitable for puppies, adult dogs, and senior pets.

Does my baby need to be sleeping during the casting?
Not at all. Babies can be awake, feeding, or resting in your arms. The moulding material sets quickly, and we work around your baby’s natural rhythm to keep the experience calm and comfortable.

What if my baby or pet moves during the mould?
Movement is completely normal. We’re experienced in working with wriggly newborns, curious toddlers, and lively pets. If needed, we simply try again — calmly, gently, and without any pressure.

Is the casting process messy or painful?
No. The process is clean, safe, and pain-free. The moulding material feels soft and cool, similar to a light jelly, and washes away easily with warm water. There is no discomfort for babies or pets.

Home Casting Kits & Existing Impressions

Do you offer remote casting kits for UK-wide and worldwide clients?
Yes. Our remote casting kits allow families across the UK and worldwide to create their mould at home. You simply return the mould to us, and we create your finished cast in your chosen material: stone plaster, glass, or bronze — with the same care as an in-person appointment.

Can you create a cast from a handprint or paw print I already have?
Often, yes. If you have an existing baby handprint, footprint, paw print, or impression, we can usually advise whether it’s suitable for casting in plaster, glass, or bronze. Send us a photo and we’ll guide you on what’s possible.

Families, Siblings & Memorials
Do you offer family, sibling, or memorial castings?
Yes. We create sibling castings, family hand sculptures, paired pet paw impressions, and memorial castings for babies and pets. These sessions are handled with great care, privacy, and respect, and are designed to create a meaningful keepsake during an emotional time.

Extras & Jewellery
Do you offer baby bottom castings or jewellery?
Yes. Baby bottom castings are available as an optional extra during your appointment and can be finished in bronze, silver, glass, or plaster.
While we don’t create jewellery in-house, we work closely with Philippa Herbert, a trusted partner specialising in miniature baby hand and foot charms in precious metals. We’re happy to guide you if you’d like to explore this alongside your casting.
